The German dub/remix label ECHO BEACH (yes, owner Nicolai Beverungen named the label after the song) has released a tribute C.D. with 13 new remixes of MatM's best known song including ON A SILENT SUMMER EVENING, Martha and Mark's own deconstructed echo of the original, with help from sonic mixmaster Ed Wilson. Germans finest "tribal-trance-jazz" fusion project, courtesy of Waveform/Jubilee Records. Brilliant and deep infectious chugger... mellow wave trance. High class.

2. Gabriel Le Mar 6:10 (Le Mar Dub Version)
Contribution by G.Le Mar who is one half of the legendary Blue Room project Saafi Brothers ?! Very 808 drum pattern and dubby orientated soulful version of ECHO BEACH.... a 50.000 Dollar disco vibe...!

3. Reverend Echo 7:07 (Dreaddub Version)
The more dread - the more dub - the more echo. Sounds like Dread meets Wave Rockers meets Paul Oakenfold in the Perfecto Lab. Sublime vibe for that bit of project

4. Martha & The Muffins - On A Silent Summer Evening 5:13 (Echo Beach Version)
We are not sure if it´s true but is a great story regardless: Mark Gane and Martha Johnson with a stunning re- interpretation of their own cult song. A re-incarnation and one step ahead. Sounds very adult and for microsoft windows 108.

5. Thomas Fehlmann 4.56 (Flowing Version)
Berlin´s high class sound clubbing performer and one third of The Orb "Thomas Fehlmann" (recording artist for R&S Records, Kompakt a.o.) with a 100% flowing rework. Very laidback and sort of orbit like.

6. Vincenzo 7:24 (Beach House Version)
Beach House at it´s best. Germany`s top House DJ Vincenco (look out for his own Dessous label imprint) with a deep groove, funky bassline and all about echo beach mood.

7. Sounds From The Ground 6:40 (Echo Version)
London´s most respected ambient dub house act S.F.T.G. with a splendid track. Sound which captures the smokey spiritual essence of the Echo Beach... cosmic reverberations and a seperate pool of liquid bass.

8. Groove Corporation 4:52 (Elephant Dub Version)
Manchester´s top class reworker and reconstructer G Corp (formerly known as Groove Corporation) spreading thin vocals over a light, easy going riddim. A bubbling trip to the echo beach.

9. Watershell 6:08 (Waterdub Version)
Toronto´s ... "give a go"... new electronic specialist James Irvin (recording artist for Interchill) rides a deep, plodding drum`´n`bass vibe and boasts the kind of soft, velvety sub-bass you could sink your head into.

10. Pre Fade Listening 7:18 (Pre-Fade Dub Version)
Different Drummer (Rockers Hifi label) recording artist P.F.L. with a punchy and hip hoppy sound decoration around the original sample elements. Very serious step into break and bass excursion.

11. Sushi Club 6:24 (Sushi Version)
Elektrolux (Frankfurts leading dub and experimental trade mark) artist Sushi Club with a very blunted chill out version. Superb statement of token echo, reverb and ambient.

12. Ostinato 4: 40 (Echo Nuri Version)
A very sensitive avant-garde-electronica tune with broken vocals and future guitar loops. High class esoteric by Germans Ostina, who reworked Einstürzende Neubauten "Maifestspiele" as excellently as Martha & The Muffins top hit "Echo Beach".

13. Jimmy Cauty (KLF) 3:51 infected by THE SCOURGE OF THE EARTH...!
Another RAVE attack of an unreleased KLF track...!? Echo Beach`s heavy guitar lick in a very special order under control by Jimmy Cauty´s "kopyright liberation sound front. Metal guitars, heavy female vocal backround and Mark E.Smith sound vocals edit to a gorgeous god damned right version of Echo Beach.
